After the launch of Oneplus 7 Pro we all thought that Oneplus which we loved is dead, because they were moving to the real flagship market from flagship killer. This led to oneplus 8 pro, a complete flagship phone which touched the $ 1000 price mark, but in India it costs around ₹ 55,000 and oneplus 8 costs around ₹ 42,000 and this also meant oneplus had left ₹ 25,000 to ₹ 30,000 market from which it gained popularity. It turns out they didn’t completely abandon the market, they filled it out with new smartphone Oneplus NORD, which they released on 21 July, 2020.

Don’t get me wrong this is not a flagship killer i would rather categorize under mid range high end smartphone category. It has 90 Hz smooth 1080p amoled panel with pill shaped dual camera cutout which holds a 32 megapixel primary and 8 megapixel ultra wide camera. On the back we have a 48 megapixel primary camera, 8 megapixel ultra wide, 2 megapixel macro lens and 5 megapixel depth sensor. Well at the end we have snapdragon 765G powering the phone which might not be as good as snapdragon 865 but stacks up well against the old snapdragon 845, so it would fly through your regular day to day task but you will see some difference in gaming and graphics intensive stuff as snapdragon 865 is based packs Adreno 650 but snapdragon 765g packs Adreno 620.

Oneplus has always advertised speed with their smartphone, but this time they are going for a complete package i.e. a good display, nice cameras and decent processor with some great specs like 5g, NFC, WiFi 6, LPDDR 4X ram and U.F.S 2.1 storage. The direct competition to this phone would be Google Pixel 4a/4a XL, Samsung A71, Samsung A80, Realme X2 pro and Realme X3 super-zoom.
