Yesterday at a press event in Cupertino, California, Apple launched its latest line-up of iPhone Models i.e. iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max. They feature latest most powerful smartphone processor A13 Bionic and multiple cameras at the back. The Apple iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max are priced at ₹ 64,900 ($699), ₹ 99,900 ($999), ₹ 1,09,900 ($1099) for 64GB version and they will be available in Indian stores on 27 Sept. (US stores on 20 Sept.)
While iPhone 11 replaces the cheaper iPhone XR, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max replaces iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max respectively. So first lets talk about the new iPhone 11.
IPHONE 11
Apple’s iPhone 11 is all about new dual camera system which includes 12-megapixel wide and 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensors. iPhone 11 also sports new cutting edge design at the back which is made of single piece of glass.
While screen and other sensors are similar to last year’s iPhone XR, iPhone 11 features new A13 bionic chip which is currently the most powerful chip in a smartphone according to apple. See the A13 bionic chip comparison with the other industry leaders:
With such a powerful processor and GPU gaming and daily tasks becomes very smooth on iPhone 11. Moreover Apple has introduced Night Mode in iPhone 11 camera which uses adaptive bracketing to produce stunning images even in low light. When using the camera app on any of Apple’s 2019 iPhones, the new Night Mode feature comes on automatically when an indoor or outdoor scene is dark enough to warrant brightening, resulting in natural colors and reduced noise.
There are improvements made to front camera as well. Apple has added 12 megapixel sensor for selfies and it allows the user to shoot 4K videos at 60fps. It also supports slow-mo video capturing and apple had showcased it at the event and named it as Slofies.
Apart from this, Apple also told that iPhone 11 will last 1 hour longer than iPhone XR. iPhone 11 also packs the latest wifi 6 for faster internet speeds on broadband. iPhone 11 will be available in 6 colors viz. Black, Green, Purple, Yellow, Red and White.
IPHONE 11 PRO AND IPHONE 11 PRO MAX
Now let’s come to stars of the show i.e. iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max which replace iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max respectively. The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max will be available in 4 different colors i.e. Gold, Space Gray, Silver, Midnight Green.
Iphone 11 Pro and Pro Max display sports same pixels as iPhone XS and XS Max respectively but now they sport 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio as compared to 1,000,000:1 earlier. The latest display also features 1200 nits of max brightness when viewing extreme dynamic range content and 800 nits of brightness in sunlight. It also features Xtreme Dynamic Range and hence display is named as Super Retina XDR display. The new display lacks the much loved 3d touch feature.
According to Apple iPhone 11 Pro will last 4 hours longer than iPhone XS and iPhone 11 Pro Max will last 5 hours longer than iPhone XS Max which is a huge increment in terms of battery life. All thanks to more powerful and more efficient A13 bionic chip. Moreover this year apple will include 18W fast charger in the box.
Now let’s come to the Pro Camera. The iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max sports an additional sensor than iPhone 11 i.e. telephoto camera which is capable of 2x optical zoom. The software behind the new cameras is just as critical as the hardware. Apple iPhone 11 Pro’s new Deep Fusion algorithms along with Smart HDR take a grand total of nine images, eight of which it snaps before even trigger the shutter is triggered. Then the A13 Bionic processor pores through each and every one of the shots taken, pulls the most correctly exposed pixels for an optimized shot in each picture and create the final image.
Video capuring on both the devices has also got enhanced. You can now capture 4k video at 60 frames per second through all three lenses and you can seamlessly switch between them while capturing a video. While a person is recording through one lens, the iPhone 11 Pro primes the other two lenses and modifies the exposure parameters. This ensures that they’re ready at time person opts for an ultrawide or zoomed shot at a moment’s notice.
